Hi, dear readers,
And welcome new dear readers here from the giveaway (about which more later, but rest assured, if you’re getting this in your inbox, you are entered!).
I thought I’d give a glimpse of my little whirlwind driving tour for THE FRAME-UP — it was BEYOND good to get out to several bookstores, meet or see their lovely booksellers, meet or see readers and catch up with some friends along the way. This is truly the first time I’ve been out since the pandemic, other than a few isolated events, and I dug it.
The frankenankle…less so on the driving, but I made it and if it took a little icing after events, well, that’s what ice is for (among other things). And the Mini is still the Car of Mine Heart.
I did some legs on my own, but my friends
and also accompanied me here and there and took copious photos. And shout out to my friend Ana who drove from Lexington to Nashville with a friend to the Parnassus stop and then plied me with all the sushi I could eat (basically, what I’m always looking for in this life). For those of you who I didn’t get near to, some photo galleries! The consensus of the discussions is that The Frame-Up is a very fun book that mashes up magic and real-world in a heist and also features intergenerational patriarchal trauma and second-chance romance.

(I did not draw that tree — Kelsey asked for a doodle and actual artist John Lackey was standing nearby and whipped out that beauty on request.)

(Parnassus shop dogs always.)

(Bill is so clever with the Anxiety Lass T-shirt mid-tour — my superhero persona.)

(I got reading glasses and am now unstoppable!)
I think you can see we had a blast at these events, including Asheville, where I randomly only took photos of the art museum and the moon (I mean, on brand). HOWEVER, that stop can now be viewed online courtesy of Malaprop’s — it begins with Megan Shepherd discussing her house, which is HAUNTED. Romancelandia TV’s premiere, which is also a blast, is up for your anytime viewing.
I hope you get the book if you haven’t, review it if you do and dig it, tell everyone you meet randomly they might like it. If you can’t afford to pick it up now, encourage your library to get it, if they haven’t already. Signed copies, of course, are available from Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lexington and Cincinnati, Parnassus Books, Malaprop’s Bookstore, and Carmichael’s! And I’d love to know what you think and what questions you have. Feel free to drop them in the comments and/or let me know if you’d like an AMA here soon.
New people, I promise I usually write actual things here, but I’m still recovering from tour and ankle and about to head out for a weekend recharge with some writer pals in the mountains. However, one thing I did at all those fabulous places is pick up books by my equally fabulous conversation partners and get them signed to do a big old give away. I’ll also give away a few signed copies of The Frame-Up. The only thing you have to do to be entered is stay subscribed to this newsletter. And, if you like the newsletter, maybe share this and encourage others to subscribe. I’ll select a grand prize winner and runners up a week from today to get this fabulous stack and my book:
Stella is much improved. And now, off to pack for the weekend and prep for the house sitter’s arrival. Thank you all for being here and reading! More soon from and my great new jacket…
Love,
G
That tour sounds like a blast; thanks for letting us travel vicariously through your photos/thoughts
