The late unpleasantness has continued, but we hired an attorney and are trying to get on with life in the meantime. I’m deep in the deadline cave, finishing up the magical Regency, hopefully to be turned in before we leave for a nice vacation in England. (We have a great house and pet sitter, which makes traveling a lot less stressful!) My hope is to regroup and do some serious thinking about the next book I’m writing on that trip. And just soak up being away.
But first must finish this book!
We just finished a collaboration with the wonderful writer and photographer Kevin Nance at the Lexington Writer’s Room, doing new portraits for anyone who needed them. (Kevin’s been participating in Lexington Poetry Month, and has some terrific contributions you can see here.) (It is a truth non-universally acknowledged that one of the things you’ll be asked for most as an author is your headshot. )
I wanted to do some heist-y photos for promoting The Frame-Up.
Yes, the mischievous one on the bottom left is The One. But these were all a lot of fun to do. It’s been a blast seeing how everyone else’s shots are coming out too. Also, Kevin once photographed Judy Blume, which means I’m now one degree of separation from Judy Blume. That’s how it works, right?
They’re Hereeeee
Annnnd hooray, The Youngbloods have arrived! You can check out Family Demons right now, and you should. You can snag it on Audible or Amazon, and I’d be remiss in not mentioning there’s an Audible Plus/Premium three month free trial thing going on.
Here’s a super-cool audio trailer featuring Petra, the family hunter. All the actors are INCREDIBLE.
I also have some FREE promo codes to give out. Drop a comment on this post and three of you will get one! It’s a good time. And remember, book one will be followed by installments two and three over the coming months!
Go download it here. If you enjoy, please consider rating and reviewing. Also, at us with your favorite characters and lines. My personal favorite line in chapter one was written by Sam: “You shot my favorite fucking cheese!” And now back to my deadline garret.
LOL I commented on the wrong post. Have an awesome trip, those headshots are bad-ass, and yay for the new release!
Enjoy your time in England!!! We took the whole family over for April break and had a blast!
