Hello, hi, it’s me, I’m the problem! I kid — there’s no problem. Except I’m trying to settle into writing a book at the same time I’m getting ready to launch MR. & MRS. WITCH on March 7, which is, GASP, next week. As my friend Lisa says, a good problem to have. Apologies, then, that this is mostly a news post!
First, a reminder that if you want to do a signed preorder and get the special C.R.O.N.E. sticker (the secret agency heroine Savvy is a part of!), you have until this Friday (3/3/23)! They turned out so well!

If you’re local, I hope to see you for the launch at Joseph-Beth Booksellers on March 7 at 7 p.m. here in Lexington — the fabulous Tif Marcelo will be joining me! I have a few other events in March too. Et voila, here they are:
I would love to see y’all at any of these. I’m mostly sticking close to home, because see writing a new book. And, in case you’re like, what is this book again?
In Mr. & Mrs. Witch, the next novel from bestselling author Gwenda Bond, a couple discovers at the altar the surprising secret identities they’ve kept from each other.
Savannah Wilde is a witch, a very powerful one—an identity that only her fellow witches know. Following a whirlwind romance that surprised herself and her family, Savvy is all set to marry the love of her life. But she isn’t the only one with a secret that needs to be kept, even from her soon-to-be husband.
Griffin Carter is a top agent for a clandestine organization that, well, used to primarily hunt witches, but now mainly tries to shut down supernatural threats their own way. He can’t wait to lay his eyes on the woman he’s about to spend the rest of his life with.
As Savvy walks down the aisle to Griffin, the wedding quickly goes from blessed day to shit show when their true identities are revealed. To say there’s bad blood between their factions is putting it mildly. Savvy and Griffin are tasked to take the other out, but when they discover a secret that could take down both of their agencies, they realize the only way to survive is to team up. With assassins hot on their trail, will Savvy and Griffin make it out alive to try again at ‘I do’?
General preorder links here! Check out an excerpt of chapter one here. And I’ve been delighted to find the book on several most anticipated lists and over the weekend on this great Bookbub list. Also: YES THERE IS AN AUDIO BOOK. It’ll be available on all the usual platforms including Audible (and on Spotify!) on launch day and is already up for preorder on some of them — and I’m THRILLED to say that the narrators are Luke Daniels and Amy Landon!
And I’m not the only one in the household with news. I’m going to sneak in Christopher’s too. I’m OBSESSED with his upcoming long novella from Tor Dot Com Publishing, out in September. It’s a must-read. And just look at this absolute perfection of a cover by the amazing Yuko Shimizu:
“Half fable, half caper, and a pure joy to read. If I have to go to hell, this is the fox I want to take me there.”—Holly Black, New York Times bestselling author of Book of Night
Quintus Shu’al, the world’s only navigating fox, is in disgrace after guiding an expedition to its doom, leaving no survivors. One year later, Quintus is offered the chance to redeem himself: he will need to lead a team of motley, fractious team—both human and animal—all the way to the gates of hell.
Praise for The Navigating Fox
“The Navigating Fox is something only Christopher Rowe could deliver: a twisty New Weird noir mystery that follows a bad priest, a pair of mapmaking raccoons, a bison queen, and a very clever fox. There’s nothing like it; you have to read it.”—Alix E. Harrow, New York Times bestselling author of The Once and Future Witches
“As clever and daring as its eponymous namesake, The Navigating Fox is a rich, weird fable—stocked with a vivid cast of characters in a world that’s deeply peculiar, and completely fascinating.”—Cherie Priest, author of Boneshaker and Flight Risk
“A trip to Hell you’re going to want to take: Christopher Rowe’s The Navigating Fox asks the eternal question where do we come from? in a story that is completely charming, philosophical, enlightening, entertaining, and clever as, well, a fox.”—Alma Katsu, author of The Fervor
“Whimsical, rakish, and touching—and also there are talking raccoons!”—Max Gladstone, Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author
“How mysterious is the Navigating Fox! But no more so than the bargains he strikes, the deceptions he weaves, and the paths he walks: geographical, political, ecumenical, and otherwise. The Navigating Fox is by turns charming, biting, enigmatic, languorous, and dangerous, and leaves the horizon just a bit more infinite than before.”—C. S. E. Cooney, author of Saint Death’s Daughter
Preorder, because you really don’t want to miss this one! I personally want a million more stories in the Knowledgeable Creatures world.
I promise actual thinks to come in the future, not just news dumps. But I hope y’all are excited for the witch book and the others to come, and thanks, as always, for your support and for reading.
More soon,
Gwenda
