And you! No paywalls ever, building community online, Substack fatigue and why you should join me anyway, and a deluxe giveaway for subscribers current and new! None of it in that order.
I really miss blogging, and my Substack writing is so intermittent. I hear you about Substack fatigue; I am currently only paying for two subscriptions (which I did when I actually had an income), and right now I just cannot. I also agree about keeping everything free (not that anyone would pay for my current drivel), so THANK YOU for that.
I adore you, truly. I just created a substack for the same reason. I loved blogging back in the LiveJournal days. You’ve articulated my own annoyances with social media as of late. I just want to connect with others again about things I am wildly passionate about.
I miss the old blog days more and more as the current social media landscape burns. I loved hanging out in the comment sections of popular blogs. I've made some lifelong friends through that, as well as tons of professional opportunities like you mentioned. I think what would alleviate Substack Fatigue is a new breed of RSS readers to come along where we can go to one place and read all of the blogs and newsletters we love in one convenient spot.
Hi Gwenda! How do we enter the giveaway or is it automatic just for being here? ❤️❤️❤️
I love the old internet, where we met! Also, requested that my library buy Mr. & Mrs. Witch (they buy more copies than I do).

Sending love to you and your mom....
